1 What are your interests other than writing?

Vandit: I like to watch movies, read and create relatable content on social media. 

Mahek: I have always loved reading and swimming. Attending live comedy shows is my most recent and current interest.

2 What inspires you in life?

Vandit: What inspires me is that there is someone who is working hard to become an inspiration.

Mahek: I believe that anybody can achieve whatever they want in life if they keep working on it dedicatedly. The people who made it large also started from zero. And… “If they can do it, why can’t I?” 

3 How often do you write?

Vandit: Not quite often but whenever I do, I make sure it’s all real, I don’t write until it kicks me from inside.

Mahek: I work as a content writer for a private firm to ensure that I get some words out every day even if it isn’t a story. Writing fiction isn’t a regular practice for me yet but I am working to make it a daily practice.

4 Do you have a set schedule for writing, or are you one of those who write only when they feel inspired?

Vandit: I write only when it comes from within, you will find me not writing anything for months. No set schedules but I like to write on late nights with a cup of coffee.

Mahek: I do not have a set schedule for writing. I have written some of my best lines either very early in the morning or very late at night – mostly when everyone else is asleep.

5 What other genres do you enjoy reading?

Vandit: I have always been a fan of young adult books. I like reading contemporary books, memoirs and romance. 

Mahek: My favourite genres for reading are mystery and fantasy, they always leave me craving for more. I also enjoy children’s books because they tend to teach you a lot in a simple way.

6 Have you ever written a character based on the real you in some part?

Vandit: I haven’t intended too but many of my friends and family have told me that Dev, the protagonist of my book, is a lot like me.

Mahek: I haven’t written any characters based on me, but I usually give every character some of my traits or traits of someone I know. I think this makes them more real and relatable.

7 Can you tell us about your current projects?

Vandit: I am currently not working on any projects as of now, still trying to find and explore myself with stories. 

Mahek: I have recently started writing a new book and I am very excited about it. Although I don’t know when it will be finished, I can tell you one thing for sure: it will have superheroes. 

8 If you were to change your genre, which one would you choose?

Vandit: I would like to write about mystery once, the thought of writing a mystery novel intrigues me.

Mahek: I think a funny book full of puns and innuendos would be a joy to write.

9 What does literary success look like to you?

Vandit: If there’s a reader who loves your book and messages you via social media just to say they like your book, that’s the only success I am looking for.

Mahek: When people start downloading pirated copies of my book from the internet, I think that would be the highest form of success.

10 A message for all the readers?

Vandit: Here’s hoping that every time when it gets too dark, you will find a home between the pages of our book.

Mahek: Be the superhero of your own life.
