Review

I just finished reading this interesting book. @kaaalpanaa in her debut novel shares an amazing mystery that you must not skip.

Devil in the house? Is the story of Sarah, Mehak, Divij and Jay Dixit. Mehak gets the news that Sarah is Murdered and she returned to her hometown. She found Sarah’s book and was surprised when she found some unknown truths.

Well, I loved the storyline. The way the story proceeds adding mystery with each chapter discovering the unknown truths. Narrated from Mehak’s, Divij’s, and Jay Dixit’s perspective, with a blend of mystery, thriller and lots of drama Kalpana weaves a wonderful story.

I found it a bit difficult to connect to the story first, but later it was a roller coaster ride. I liked how the author describes the shades of emotions Mehak goes through when she found her sister dead and when she visited her place, the Traumatic situation she faced, one could relate to it.

With a gripping and interesting writing style, it’s a smooth paced story that will make the readers curious about Sarah’s death. Sometimes too many details made it a bit tedious but overall, it was a good read.

The characters are strong and well-developed by the author. One could relate to the situations well. I liked the way the investigation took place and what all Mehek discovered when she got a book Sarah was working on and when she discovered about her Mother’s death. That made me more curious.

Not to forget the unexpected climax that you will love. It’s a mind-blowing, thrilling read that you must not skip. Love reading thrillers? Do not skip this.
