I finished reading this beautiful book and it’s mind-blowing. Second hand smiles by Rajal Dhakan Whiteowlpoetries is a collection of beautiful poems that will make you pause for a while, think and appreciate the beauty of life.

Divided into 4 parts the author shares about the emotions each one of us goes through. We all have been in such situations where all we could do is fake a smile and think, the author hits the right chord with the perfect words. The words that describe our state of mind, about certain situations, about nature, hope, love, heartbreak and a lot more.

This book is full of layers of emotions and each poem reflects the beauty of everything around us. The poems are raw and candid that portrays the emotions beautifully.

The writing style of the author is simple and gripping that keeps the readers invested in. One could relate to each of them. Some are short poems while some are long, you will find a simple word that can describe the situation or a paragraph, this book has it all.

Another thing that I loved is the 10 things that I forget, the author added. It was like smiling and thinking oh, this is so true!. Each of them has a depth and is special in its own way. Some of them will leave us with a question while some of them will just answer our questions.

As beautiful as the title and cover are, this book is Unique. Poems like letters from the city to the sea, Dancer, 3 truths, 1 lie, becoming, Volcano, Broken Subset, cycle, Magic are my favourite.

It is a book that I will treasure forever. The poems are just perfect. How a few words can describe all that we feel.
