I Didn’t expect to be expecting is a story of Tara and Abhi. Tara who is expecting goes through various mood swings. it’s about her pregnancy journey. This book is full of Humour, love and lots of emotions. I loved the plot of the story, it’s interesting and full of fun. The author has beautifully described each emotion the protagonists were going through. The narration of the story is crisp and easy. One can easily connect with the story. The language used by the author is simple and lucid. The author has used Bong language at some places.
The writing style of the author is engaging and easy. I loved how the plot proceeded with many exciting events. this book has not only fun but lots of Drama. The characters that the author developed are strong and amazing. Each character had their own personality and added a twist to the story. The author managed to give importance to each and every character. Apart from the protagonists, the supporting characters have their own story which makes this book more interesting.
I loved Tara’s character. The way she handled each and every problem was wonderful. What I loved was she was a career-oriented person. well, other characters are also full of fun, and yes how can I forget Raool’s character.
This book is full of emotions, family drama, friendship and a Journey of a pregnant woman. Themes like Love, friendship, hate, relationship, envy were witnessed in the story.
Overall It’s a book with a strong plot, Crisp narration, wonderful characters and simple language. Though at some places I was not able to connect well, but then again, Tara’s journey made me read till the end and I loved it.
I am waiting for The journey of Tara and Abhi towards Parenthood. waiting for the next book.
Like reading fun, humour. go for it. it’s a light, quick and easy read.

Tara is living a blessed life in the maximum city with her husband Abhimanyu, the love of her life. At the pinnacle of her career, she is the apple of her parents’ eyes and hasn’t spotted a wrinkle yet – so far, the 30s are looking great! Nothing fazes Tara – not a foul-mouthed best friend or a food-burning arch-nemesis in the form of her maid – not even a landlady who chats with ghosts. And then, Tara discovers that she’s pregnant, and suddenly, all that well-honed composure crumbles. It doesn’t help that she’s got an equally jittery (if supportive) husband by her side. Now, Tara must face her anxieties about parenthood as she navigates friendships, marriage and career, all the while dealing with the fact that her body and mind are steadily feeling like they belong to someone else. An irreverent, honest and funny journey down the road – potholes and all – to (accidental) parenthood!
