Interview with Bhupender Gupta – Author of Travelogue Across Hemispheres

About the Author

The genesis of Bhupender Gupta’s penchant for writing comes from the time when he was the President of the Student’s Union where writing press notes or letters to Who’s who in the field of Journalism or Politics was a matter of routine. Writing on travels now is probably its natural corollary.

A technocrat by education and a businessman by profession, hectic schedules made travel an unintended casualty. However today, seemingly a different unchartered chapter has commenced.

Emanating from believe that ‘The student within you can or should never die or ever become an inadvertent casualty to your growing age’, the writer, once again, consciously with a Pen in his hand and a camera over his shoulders, steps out to study, learn and educate himself while calling in on exotic destinations.

Suddenly the visuals begin to communicate and turn themselves into words. The unimagined enormity of nature’s benevolence now becomes comprehensible like never before. A chanced churning that has a person with science background propitiously enter into the field of literature.

Interview

Q) Tell us about the idea behind the book?

Like someone said: “We Wander for Distraction, but We Travel for Fulfilment”.

The main purpose to publish this book is to share my lovely travel experiences with my readers. Prod them probably to quit their silos and go visiting exotic places; explore the world and get one with the magnificent manifestation of the ever evolving nature.

Q) How much time did it take in the process of writing?

It took a few months to compile the writings into book format. Though most of it were on my web page www.bhupendergupta.com , the pictures particularly had to be upgraded to obtain better resolution and also converted into a different format.

Q) What did the process of writing this book teach you?

Sharing your experience with the others and carrying them along as they turn pages of your book is an utterly joyful feeling difficult to express.

Q) What inspired you to write this book?

Let me be honest. I am an accidental author. I never ever dreamt of seeing myself as writing a book. This thought as to why not get my writings published inadvertently struck one fine day. Thus began the endeavour to convert this thought into reality. This book perhaps is a result of this process.

Q) Which is your favourite part from the book?

This is truly a difficult question, I believe for any author to answer. Every sentence is your creation and every picture is equally dear to you. So is it possible to discriminate?

Q) A book that had an impact on you, which helped you in writing this one?

I read a lot of spiritual books. These make you realise that egalitarianism is the essence of nature. I am in complete consonance with what Mark Twain famously said “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness”. It indeed is!

Q) Tell us about your plans? Planning a new book?

Yes. I have 3 other books planned for release. The next however will be titled: ‘Travelogue Across Continents’ as it will include places that were visited in the continent of America, Europe and Asia.

Q) How your life changed after the book was published?

Life has not changed. And why should it ? Yes I am happy to be called an author and also glad to see my maiden venture to be noted, recognised and presented with the prestigious ‘Golden Book Award – 2022’ in the Travelogue Category.

Q) What is a literary success for you?

Success is subjective. Desires can be never ending. So as human you need to perform Karma and let the nature decide what you deserve.

Q) A message for all the readers.

My message to readers and book lovers is that keep-up with your good habit of reading what you like. One can never cease to be a student. Urge to learn can be insatiable.

Also, I thank all who have acquired this book, in either Kindle or Paper Book format and have found it worth a read. Even more thanks to all those who took time to post incredibly heartening reviews on Amazon. A truly encouraging feedback for any author.
