Interview

Q) Tell us about the idea behind the book?

The idea behind the book was to create and evoke awareness of ignored emotions that we often overlook as a human. Interestingly, I had an opportunity to explore the flair of writing with BookLeaf Publishing who appreciated the budding writers as a motivation. The poetry here is delicate to its thought and deep to its meaning. UKs an expression of observation around me and the reaction of my emotions.

Q) How much time did it take in the process of writing?

Well, every poem is heartfelt expression turned into words of communication. It’s an absorption of time. I can say, Literature is the part of me so it’s not difficult for me to complete this book in a matter of 21 days. I wanted to be precise with it and connect with the readers in a soulful way.

Q) What did the process of writing this book teach you?

Well, as it’s my first book. I am quite emotional about it as it has motivated me to write more in the future. The process of learning as an author is never-ending process. As, every twist and turn of the plot of your story being an author is dramatic to experience. Authors are emotional and sensitive human beings in my perspective. And the jolt of emotions with every line the author experience for his or her creations teaches something more about life. And this is what I learnt during ,my writing process of this book.

Q) What inspired you to write this book?

Ah.. well this is a very long story which connects the dots to my professional and educational choices. I always wanted to study Literature and Language. But, my father was intrigued that I must pursue Medicine as a profession. The deep love and desire of learning in the field which I embarked upon after multiple ripples, tosses and believing on my dreams of learning brought me to the passage of writing. When you shatter multiple times, then only poetry can take shape. I think that is my biggest inspiration and motivation.

Q) A book that had an impact on you, which helped you in writing this one?

I am a great fan of Virginia Woolf and Emily Dickinson. Certainly, it’s an honor for me as well to get awarded in the name of your favourite poet as well. I am fond of free verse poetry. And Emily Dickinsons style of writing influenced me.

Q) Your favourite poem from the book?

My favourite is The Lonely Step.

Q) Tell us about your plans? Planning a new book?

Well, I am in the field of Education from past 8 years. I also run a Training and Tutoring Academy . Education is in my blood and I want to work with every best possible effort to improvise it and contribute within the fraternity with my knowledge and expertise. I am looking forward for my PhD degree to start with by end of this year along with it my second book on which I am currently working. I am looking forward to write more on Academics and Literature in the future.

Q) How your life changed after the book was published?

Well, I have a very different approach towards life and the perspectives about it. Change is the only constant, hence any developments in our life brings lot more viability, recognition and motivations for the future with certainty.

Q) What is literary success for you?

A beautiful question. And thank you for asking this. Success is when you are able to deliver with feedback of your vision. My feedback is young people in front of me. I turned 28 but there are lot of young people around us who needs guidance, a wise approach to shape their personality and emotions. When I teach and train , I can see alot of momentum can be created with viability. And if your work shapes the youth in any such way from emotions to skilling, reskilling them through language, thought or motivation, I strongly believe that its a Literary success for me.

Q) A message for all the readers?

My message for the readers is that The Reflections is a book to reflect onto ourselves as a human being. It evokes ignored emotions and takes you on the path of empathy and understanding. It’s deep and cut you into pieces at times but truth is often sharp and penetrating.

My message is to have a society and social structures all together of peace , unity in diversity and loving each other more. We are on a stage as performers and we must work hard for the rewards by end of this play that we are a part of that is the society, the world as a whole.
