Ritesh Raj Karnani is an engineer in Computer Science and managing Chemical Division of his family business at Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Ritesh’s constant reading (love stories) during travelling at beginning of his professional life forced him to take a pen and paper and start a story.
A walk in my shoes is his maiden novel on which he was working for almost 7 years.
Apart from driving and travelling, he also has keen interest in latest gadgets.

Q) Tell us about the idea behind the book?
I used to travel a lot during the calendar year 2011 and 2012 for my business purposes.
From 1January 2013 I started writing random scenes during my travelling and in 2015 when I checked the material written by me and after compilation it was a love story. Few scenes were written after the compilation.
There wasn’t any idea behind it, it all happened randomly.
Q) How much time did it take in the process of writing?
It took me 5 years in writing and 2 years in publishing.
Q) What did the process of writing this book teach you?
Since writing was a long process it taught me patience and at multiples stages you need review from persons so it also taught me adaptability and acceptance.

Q) What inspired you to write this book?
Constant reading of love stories was an inspiration for to write a book.
Q) Which is your favourite part from the book?
From the moment Rounak proposes Manali to the moment Manali accepts the proposal.
Q) A book that had an impact on you, which helped you in writing this one?
Many stories impacted me and inspired me to write this story naming all stories isn’t possible but major role was played by stories of Sudeep Nagarkar Sir, Ravinder Singh Sir, Preeti Shenoy Ma’am.
Q) Tell us about your plans? Planning a new book?
Currently my focus is on marketing and distribution of A WALK IN MY SHOES and parallelly also planning to start a new book but not love story this time.
Q) How your life changed after the book was published?
When I announced the release of my maiden novel A WALK IN MY SHOES, all the contacts were in state of shock how and when this happened. Only few close friends were known that I am planning to publish a novel. Everyone appreciated it and people are loving my story and few persons asked for the release date of next story.
Q) What is a literary success for you?
Literary success means when my story is able to connect every reader. If I am able to connect with emotions of my readers then I will be successful.
Q) Message for readers
I know that today’s world is of OTT platforms and they show content for which youth is craving but trust me readers stories are still the source of their content. Every story/novel in world is somewhere related to real life incidents of people. Instead of going for imaginations shown in OTT go for reading as there you will be seeing the world from other’s eye.
