Review:

We all have our map to follow,
Our own choices to make
Our own decisions to follow which makes us very much us.

When a messy mind needs a break, such books comes to rescue. Poetry always heals me, and this book is perfect for a cosy afternoon. This book is straightforward and whimsical, exploring life’s random musings, much like its cover, which is vibrant and captivating. Thoughts, Musings, Dreams? by Tanushree Umesh Poojary is a delightful collection of poems that feels like a warm hug. Calm and simple, these poems are heartwarming and highlight the beauty of life. In this collection, Tanushree shares her thoughts on various topics, focusing on how the smallest moments and details, which we often overlook, are significant.

Her poems touch on a variety of poignant themes. The collection explores the vibrant tapestry of Mumbai, affectionately known as the City of Dreams, alongside themes such as the chaos of traffic jams, the poignant reminiscence of “The One Who Left Us Behind,” and the bittersweet nostalgia of “The Last School Bell.” Other poems touch on subjects like “purpose”,  spirituality in “Temple,” the joy found in “Her Favourite Season,” the delightful experiences in a “Sweet Shop,” and the profound bond of “Motherhood.”

Tanushree’s ability to convey the beauty of life through her words is nothing short of enchanting. Her writing style, characterized by its simplicity and depth, draws readers in, allowing them to recall their own cherished memories and moments. The soothing tone of her poetry creates a serene atmosphere, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Adding to the charm of the collection are the delightful illustrations that accompany the poems, enhancing the reading experience with their whimsical yet fitting designs.

Among the many gems in this collection, my personal favourites are “My Favourite Season,” which captures the essence of nature’s transforming beauty; “Purpose,” which offers a contemplative take on the meaning of life; and “Siblings,” a heartfelt tribute to the bonds that shape our childhood. This book is a treasure trove for anyone seeking light yet meaningful poetry or looking to immerse themselves in the world of verse for the first time. It’s a reliable choice that promises to uplift and inspire, a good pick for all the beginners.
