The story revolves around Anwar, a business professional hired by the National Fashion Council to develop the business side of the industry. Anwar, drawing from his experience, tries to break the repetitiveness and bring change as he observes two different sides of the industry. We witness a group of people who are determined to sabotage any effort to challenge their dominance in the industry. Will Anwar be able to bring about the change he envisions? Anwar collaborates with two of his school colleagues. Will he be able to expose them to the board?

The story is a roller-coaster ride as two factions work to defend their respective agendas. With a captivating and entertaining storyline and an intriguing plot, Vinod Kaul weaves a gripping narrative filled with corporate politics, grudges, friendships, and webs of lies. It’s reminiscent of a Bollywood movie, with both factions scheming against each other. Vinod’s writing style is engrossing and relatable, piquing the reader’s curiosity about what will happen next. With each chapter, the story becomes more intense.

It’s a smooth-paced story with strong, well-developed characters, each adding depth to the narrative. The conversations between the groups add excitement and drama to the story. I found Shailaja’s character particularly intriguing. The story’s drama unfolds well, with suspense building, capturing the reader’s attention. It’s a perfect blend of glamour and politics in the industry. The climax of the story is unexpected and mind-blowing. ‘The Coterie’ offers a compelling plot and dynamic characters, making it a gripping, fast-paced read for anyone captivated by the world of fashion and drama.
