Review:

▶️a game you always loved to play as a child?

Well, my favourite one was the treasure hunt! We created maps to reach the treasure with the team’s efforts and it was so much fun.

Anu Pillai’s ‘The Cursed Treasure’ is a fast-paced and engrossing tale that spans from 1880 to 2020. It is set in the city of Kollam, where Gopal, Vedhika, and Dev reside. The story begins with Gopal and Vedhika starting a family, followed by Dev’s childhood and his studies. After completing his studies, Dev returns with a business idea. The family decides to buy Sree Lakshmi Vilas, the home next door and soon discovers a surprise – a hidden treasure, Leading the readers on a thrilling adventure to unravel the mystery of the cursed treasure.

With a compelling plot and gripping narrative, Anu Pillai takes readers on a mysterious ride where we discover the story of Keshu. It is the story of the trials and tribulations in his life. Right from his childhood where he had a spark of going the extra mile for work to working for a big company. From losing his family to office politics, the author takes us back to the time of the British Raj. From learning Butler English to getting a job and rising, we see Keshu having a successful career and life in his village, his comfort zone.

We can see how he consistently faced life’s challenges and kept moving forward. The way he moulded his life reflects growth and development. Throughout each experience, we witness Keshu evolving, and we can relate to his journey. Anu’s engaging writing style keeps the readers invested in.

Filled with drama and entertainment, the author keeps the element of suspense throughout. The story gets exciting with each chapter. With the themes of mystery, love, loss, and happiness here we see his family life and the way he went out of his way to help people. Here we see the lives of people in the village, to the close bond each of them shared.

The characters are brilliantly developed by the author. Each of them adds depth to the story with their journeys. What I liked was the way Anu added twists to the story. He keeps it light and intense at the same time. While we see Keshu’s journey we see the guidance Dev received.
