•Emotional decision-making is not the best way to make important decisions.

•Be ready to take responsibility when needed and for unusual circumstances.

•Keep everyone in the loop. You can’t make all people in the world happy at the same time.

•Never use your own reason and interpret the situation at your convenience.

•Sometimes in life you can allow yourself to focus only on the important things instead of always aiming for the highest quality.

The respect, dignity, and honour we have towards ourselves is called ICHIBUN. One should endeavour in every situation without compromising beliefs, principles and conscience within us and that’s what this book teaches us. To manage daily crises, and understand the science behind human factors in the Japanese Way.

Divided into five chapters and more than forty-nine short stories, Kosuke_sendo shares about how one can tackle any situation in life with interesting examples based on frontline employees, managers and bosses, from aviation and railways as well.

While the author shares about understanding the decision-making process and its practical use in daily life, with stories based on actual events, he shares about how decisions and methods one uses and how we can incorporate them into our lives and make them better.

We often ignore minute things that can impact us in a long way, here the author of the stories tells us to learn from other people’s mistakes and to not be haste while taking decisions.

With simple language and a gripping, engaging writing style, the author takes us to the Flight Cockpit, to a story where we understand the decision-making process in an aviation way. I loved that chapter that the most. Though it was a bit technical but I enjoyed reading that story.

It’s a unique read, and the author’s approach is very different when it comes to explaining the concepts. The examples he used were a bit Technical and need your attention to understand the concept in a better way. The way he discusses human factors and errors which we can avoid.

It’s indeed a go-to guide.
