The Sign of Time
Dear Sunshine,
I hope you’re doing okay. I wanted to remind you of something important—sometimes we think we have a lot of time, but in reality, time moves quickly.
Remember—the trouble is, you think you have a lot of time. And yet, time slips away like grains of sand through your fingers.
When you feel like giving up, pause for a moment. Remember why you started.
Think of the effort you’ve poured in, the sleepless nights, the quiet sacrifices, the dreams that kept you awake. Think of the time you’ve invested and the unwavering support of your parents—their hard work, their belief in you. It’s easy to forget why we started something, especially when things get tough. But when you feel like giving up, I need you to take a moment and remember your “why.”
Think about the effort you’ve already put in. Think about the time you’ve invested, the goals you set, and the progress you’ve made so far. Think about the support your parents gave you—the hard work they put in so you could have opportunities. None of that should be taken lightly.
Sunshine, it’s easy to give up. What’s hard is to continue. To stand up each time you fall. To try again even when your spirit is tired. But that’s where the magic happens. That’s where growth begins.
It’s easy to quit. What’s harder is to keep going, especially when you feel tired or discouraged. But that’s what matters—getting back up every time you fall. You’ve come a long way, and you have so much potential.
Look around you. There are so many who would give anything to have what you have—your opportunities, your gifts, your journey. Learn to value these things, Sunshine. Not everyone gets to walk this path. You are one of the fortunate ones. Look around you. Not everyone gets the same chances you’ve been given. That’s why it’s so important to appreciate what you have and to make the most of it. Don’t take it for granted. Make it count—not just for yourself, but for others too. Share what you’ve learned, help where you can, and offer something meaningful to those around you. You never know who needs it.
You’re capable of doing great things. You really are. But you need to stay committed. Give your best to the things you’ve started. Stay consistent. Stay responsible. Half-finished work, no matter how promising, is still incomplete. Don’t leave things hanging. See them through.
Every time you feel like you’re at your limit, remember why you began in the first place. These hard moments? They’re part of the process. This is the time when you prove to yourself that you’re capable, that you’re serious, and that you’re not going to waste what you’ve been given.
So, learn. Grow. Keep trying.
And share—give to others what you have in abundance. Give them a piece of the light that shines within you. You can do it, Sunshine. You really can. You can make it all happen. But for that to be true, you must do complete justice to the things you’ve been given. Use them wisely, kindly, and with intention.

Unfinished masterpieces may still be beautiful… But they’re still unfinished. Still incomplete. So every time you feel like stopping, every time doubt creeps in—remember why you began.
Also, don’t forget to enjoy the journey. There will be days when you’re frustrated or burnt out. That’s normal. But instead of walking away, take a break, breathe, and get back to it. We don’t have unlimited time—so let’s make the most of what we’ve got. Remember that everything, yes everything, happens for a reason. These moments you’re going through? They are the sign of time—the universe’s nudge, asking you to prove to yourself that you’re worthy, capable, and strong.
Stay focused. Stay grateful. And don’t forget to smile, even when it’s hard.
And above all, Sunshine, enjoy the journey. There will be days when you feel like quitting. When it all feels too heavy. But those are the moments to smile, to breathe deeply, and to keep going. Because the truth is—the trouble is, you think you have a lot of time.
So live.
Smile with purpose.
Move with determination.
Shine with love.
With all my heart,
–Love
I’m totally impressed that you chose such a beautiful and inspiring post for ‘R’. Thank you
Thank youuu
This came at the right time, I’d say, especially int he middle of a draining challenge like A to Z :)
Hahah that was planned sunshine ❤️
Packed witj Motivation. I always believe enjoy the journey, it will be missed once destination is reached.
hehe don’t worry I have planned something
Great piece of advice Vidhya. It will stand the test of time. True for all irrespective of age and times. Thumbs up!
All set to face the remaining days of AtoZ challenge ? thanks for the lovely post:)
Ok, this one gave me goosebumps, becasue it was as if my best friend of yesteryears was talking to me.
Very true, If doubts come, think about the reasons why you started and put lots of efforts and time to make it happen. Amazing one!
This post is a really fine take on not giving up something unfinished. When we are full of despair or facing a situation when it looks like it is impossible to get to the end we need to remember all the effort we put to get where we have till now. That usually provides the impetus to fight and complete the task on hand.
That was deep – remember why you started. It will help sail through the most difficult situations
Simple yet powerful words.
I think this post is very apt since I am getting literally drained out by travelling and all the writing reading and sharing. Great post.
Great message. Important to value what we have. Things can be a lot worse. Count your blessings.
Again a potential one…nicely written.
A beautiful reminder to all, if we remember why we started we will never stop moving ahead.
Quite liked your timing of this post… beautiful read!
You can do it!! What encouraging words. You won’t believe my 4-year-old grandson says u can do it G MA :)
What a great message! I am the type of person that has to complete whatever I start in a timely manner or it gets pushed aside. I love a challenge of any kind and my challenge is to complete what I start.
Never forget the reason why you started on this journey. The thought itself will keep motivating you. Lovely Vidhya. And the dialogue in the last from the movie YJHD is one of my favourites.
A well-timed post as the optimism for the #AtoZChallenge seems to be waning for many of us!
Your post made me strong for upcoming A2Z posts. I needed this. Thank you!
Very powerful words Vidya, there is an essence in gratitude and knowing the WHY for every little thing we do. It brings back the frame of reference to internal well being and emotional strength. Thank you for a nice morning boost :)
I felt as if this was written for me, thanks for the reminder Vidhya, really needed this. I invite you to read my R & S post too which I posted quite late.
