“Change is the brutal truth of a human being, my child. One has to change to grow.”

I finished reading this book by Anjilina Kalita. To describe the book in few words, it’s an honest, full of love and emotions and a breezy read.

Akash hurriedly handovers the diary to her and leaves. She was shocked, heartbroken and worried. She decided to read the diary to find her answers.

Anjilina Kalita ‘s Tears on the pages is a story of Akash and Kangkana who were in love ever since Akash and his family shifted to another place. Will their love get a chance? Will they ever be able to talk about their love to their families? Will they approve?

This book will make you nostalgic and will remind you of the time your parents came to see off you to the school or the market visits with them. Well, it will remind you of your first crush and is surely going to take you down the memory lane.

Akash’s life changed when he lost his deuta, his dad. Well, it’s a teenage story full of struggles, drama and love. His life changed when Love blossomed between him and Kangana, Lil did they know were the consequences.

The plot of the story is simple and engaging. It’s in form of a diary record where we are reading the snippets of their story. From a happy childhood to teenage love the author expressed Akash and Kangkana’s journey beautifully.

Not to forget the teenage struggles, the family issues, study pressure, parent’s expectations body issues and wrong choices, many others expressed in a subtle way. Anjilina described such situations aptly. Through her words and story, Anjilina conveys an important message. Many young students take the wrong steps because of certain triggers.

The writing style of the author is crisp and intriguing. The way Anjilina describes their situations will make you feel sad for both of them. The last few chapters were too emotional.

Life is uncertain, and we have to go with the flow. Akash’s journey is one such journey. I of course loved Akash’s character. How situations make him mature than his age. Overall, it’s a simple, easy and interesting read.
