Right from the cover and the title this book had my heart. I was curious about the story and hence this became Book 14 of 2023

Contrived Connections by Radhika is a story of Sivakami and Sharan who went to attend their friend Sownya’s wedding.

Little did they know, this journey would catapult the lives of several people in different directions and change their fortunes forever. How? How one mistake can ruin the lives of people, how one lie can save it all, and sometimes how you can make things right if you will to. How you have to suppress your emotions to save someone’s life. Well, this is one such story! Story of hope, loss, family drama, friendship, sacrifice and Love.

Far away from her past Sivakami is back again to where she belongs, she was witnessing her past again, stepping into her village again where people almost forgot her.

This time, Shivkami decides to set the lives of people who mean the world to her right. But why? What happened in the past? Behind this happy girl is a story worth witnessing and Radhika brilliantly expressed it all.

It’s A fast-paced story with an intriguing plot. With crisp descriptive narrative and lots of drama, sneak peek into the lives of Sharan, Sowmya and Sivakami, and how they were living away from their past, hiding the scars. While I love Sownya and Sivakami’s journey, I loved Sharan’s part the most. The person who was searching for an opportunity to express his feelings to Sivakami. Will he be able to do it? Will they be together?

With a touch of regional language, you’ll come across various terms in Tamil, which makes this book more familiar.
One could relate to the situations Sivakami goes through and Sharan’s feelings too.

What I loved most is it’s to the point, with an apt description. The characters are strong and well-developed by the author. Many new characters are introduced by the author and she shares their journey. They ad more depth to the story. You’ll feel pity for Sivakami but will be proud of her too.

You’ll feel pity for Sivakami but will be proud of her too. I loved Meenakshi Ammal’s character too. The lady who lives on her principles.

There’s friendship, there’s love, loss and guilt. With every chapter, the story turns out to be more intense and engrossing. It’s a story with a smooth flow of words. Here you’ll experience a plethora of emotions.

Overall, it’s a refreshing read that you’ll love. A story filled with love and letting go of what we love.

A book you’ll enjoy reading.
