Well, this is one book that I will always go to. Neha_r_krishna Neha’s poems have my heart.

Do you know? Haiku is a type of short form poetry originally from Japan. Traditional Japanese haiku consists of three phrases that contain a kireji, or “cutting word”, 17 on in a 5, 7, 5 pattern, and a kigo, or seasonal reference. Similar poems that do not adhere to these rules are generally classified as senryū.

Right from the cover and title to her words, Neha seizes the world of emotions for the readers. In Haiku form, No urgency to be home is a collection of poems that makes readers feel home. The poems that will make you smile, the poems that will etch your soul and will take you down the memory lane.

While the poems on grandparents made me smile, the poem Maternal home, fishing net, and moonlight poems made me wonder. Her words are strong, making readers feel the emotions. The pain, the happiness one could all connect to.

Summary

The pages of ‘No Urgency To Be Home’ brim with momental brevity. The simplicity of three-line Haiku and five-line Tanka poems embody the aesthetic of Japanese poetry, finding beauty in the imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness of nature. The book, No Urgency To Be Home, Neha R. Krishna’s first volume of modern Haiku—Tanka—Haiga, presents a curation of her most popular work alongside new poems.
