•All my life, I’ve been scared and I’ve lived inside my head. But I can’t anymore. It’s too real,” she whispers. “But aren’t we all like that? Scared, living inside our heads?”•

I’m glad I came across this beautiful beautiful story by Sonia Chauhan. Our lives our messy, it’s just about how we deal with the situations. This Maze of mirrors is one such story. It’s the story of Mridu and her family. The family that has its own secrets, and situations to deal with.

Mridu is in her own world, away from her parents. While they stay in the same house, their worlds are different. Things changed when one-day Mridu’s father used her computer and found the world her daughter lives in.

Shatrujeet, Mridus’s father is an Alcoholic and her Mother the pillar of the house tries to keep the family together. Each of them in an emotional turmoil, fights the challenges in their way. One day Mridu ran away and the reason was family. What happened to her? Will the father and daughter ever bond? Will this family find the lost love and happiness?

The plot of the story is intriguing and intense. Loved the way the events were taking place, each chapter adding a layer of depth to the story. The family relationship, the mother-daughter bond, the childhood wounds that haunted Shatrujeet, the scary past that showed him a mirror. Everything was too interesting to read.

Loved the way the story took turns with unexpected twists. I loved the later half of the story more and did not want the story to end. I craved for more. I wanted to know more about what happened next.

Sonia beautifully weaves the story full of love, loss, relationships, misunderstandings and hope. The way Shatrujeet realized his mistakes was the best part of the story for me. The gripping, engrossing writing style of the author and the drama keep the readers invested in.

The characters are brilliantly sketched by the author. Each character had a depth and a story to tell, and Sonia did justice with that.

It’s a fast-paced heartwarming story that you are going to fall in love with. It’s about love, the family love and how we have to fight with the traumas we faced in childhood to live a healthy life. A moving, quick and intense read that you will love. A must read book!
