Review:

Forgetting is Painful. It is the opposite of love. Not hate, but forgetting. It’s the greatest gift you could give yourself.

The Brown Sunshine by Arvind Rishi is surely one of the nail-biting thrillers I recently read. Filled with lots of drama and a mystery to solve, Arvind weaves a tale full of suspense and love. It’s an emotional journey of hope and despair, introspection and extrospection, wisdom and insanity, truth and a lie, Power and love and friendship. A story that shows us layers of life, making us see and feel the brown sunshine.

With an intriguing plot and crisp descriptive narrative, Arvind weaves a page-turner. It’s the story of Anthony Biswas who is searching for answers to an incident that happened years back. In search of answers, all he faces is loss. He lost everything and everyone and still, there’s a force that’s holding him. Will he be able to find the answers, will he be able to accept the answers?

An incident that happened on a trip made him question. And to find the answer he was ready to risk his life. As we delve into his journey, we see the shades of learning life and how some of us are the chosen ones. Anthonym’s journey is filled with pain, loss and defeat, and the power guiding him to find the answers. With each chapter, we find the missing puzzle making the story exciting and complex at the same time.

It’s a blend of mysteries with strong characters and each one of them adds twists to the story. The characters are brilliantly curated. While one could relate to Anthony’s situation and feel his pain, the curiosity of finding the answers kept me going. It’s a bit dense read with too many things happening altogether. The second half of the story is too exciting and gripping. The way the events turned out to be are surprising and definitely, the climax, giving us Bollywood vibes. It’s A fast-paced story with strong characters, a fascinating plot and a bewitching narrative.
