It’s an exciting read as we discover the reasons behind the mysterious death of nuclear scientists in India. A pattern that went unnoticed. The plot is skillfully crafted, with twists and turns that keep the suspense alive throughout the book. Ruby expertly weaves together elements of friendship, love, espionage, and international intrigue to create a multi-layered and complex storyline. The narrative shifts seamlessly between the past and the present, providing readers with a comprehensive understanding of the events and the lives of the people involved. 

Ruby’s writing style is immersive and to the point, with a fast-paced narrative that keeps readers engrossed from start to finish. The story is a thrilling roller coaster ride filled with drama, and the element of suspense is masterfully maintained throughout Shantanu’s journey. The detailed and descriptive storytelling keeps readers intrigued as Shantanu delves deeper into his investigation.

With every event, A new link is found, making the story more complex and intriguing. It might get a bit difficult to remember the dates and the events of the past along with the present scenarios, but it’s all worth it in the end. The present story is more compelling than the past. The way Shantanu finds the clues is exciting to read.

Ruby skillfully builds tension, ensuring that readers are constantly engaged and eager to uncover the truth alongside Shantanu. One of the book’s strengths lies in its meticulous attention to historical details. She seamlessly integrates historical events, landmarks, and cultural elements of India and China, providing a rich and authentic backdrop for the story. The descriptions of medieval Chinese bazaars, ancient temples, and lofty pagodas transport readers to these vibrant settings, adding depth and realism to the narrative.

The characters in “The Secret of Leifeng Pagoda” are well-developed and relatable. Shantanu Bose, in particular, is a compelling protagonist. His determination, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to finding the truth make him a hero worth rooting for. The supporting characters, add layers of complexity and contribute to the overall suspense of the story. The professor’s unwavering dedication and determination to go the extra mile serve as an inspiration. Shantanu’s quest for truth truly makes him the hero of the story.

While I loved the details she added, at times It’s a Bit heavy read with too many elements about each event which may at times make it a bit tedious. There are too many things to absorb as we discover the truth and a pattern here. The last few chapters are particularly thrilling, as Shantanu ventures into China. The way he unravels the plot is mind-blowing, and the climax of the story is unexpected, satisfying, and on point.

I particularly loved the way the events turned out to be. Especially in the last few chapters where the team is in action and the way Shantanu kept track of the events. His observations and the will to find the truth makes him the Hero. It was astounding to read the history as a new layer uncovers. She even shares how a particular incident can make someone do wrong to others. The loss one deal with, the anger and frustration, the hate for the other, you can witness it all here.

“The Secret of Leifeng Pagoda” is an engrossing page-turner that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.  Prepare to be enthralled as you embark on a thrilling expedition alongside Shantanu Bose, navigating the secrets of the past and present in this gripping tale.
