Summary

A story full of drama, thrill and entertainment that gives us a Bollywood feel. I appreciate Inspector Sawant’s characterthe most. The way he solved the case amidst the pressure is praiseworthy. While Nitesh is advised to keep the secrets hidden and the truth is manipulated, we see how dirty can a case turn. The courtroom drama was my favourite. The arguments, witnesses, and everything seemed real.

Review:

▶️ tell me about your last read. How was it?

It’s been days since I read some fast-paced thrilling stories until I came across this intriguing read by @author.abhishek.v. Filled with lots of drama and politics, A Tale of Two by Abhisekh V is a story of friendship, Power, politics and freedom.

Nitesh is arrested and is framed for killing Hiren. Vatsal’s body still haunts Nitesh in as some or the other way he has put him in this mess. Nitesh’s only hope is Harish Bhai, who can take him out of jail. Is he counting on him a little too much? What price does he have to pay to make someone else rich?

Vatsal and Nitesh, best friends come from the slums of Mumbai and want to make it big in life. While Vatsal has faith in his talent and wants to become a dancer, Nitesh joins hands with Harish Bhai and helps him expand his business.

The plot of the story is exciting as it begins with the police taking the case of the death and arresting Nitesh followed by the drama in the courtroom where we get a sneak peek at their past. As the story proceeds, and the inspector tries his best to keep Nitesh under the bars, we see how Nitesh trusted men to work for him. From getting the witnesses to fighting the case and the drama in the courtroom, everything feels real making it a nail-biting story as we witness Nitesh’s work. While we see crime, selling illegal goods, and corruption, we see Nitesh’s concern for his friend.

While everything he did angered me, his friendship with Vatsal is something I adored. With a crisp descriptive narrative, it’s an emotional yet thrilling roller coaster you’ll witness. Abhishek keeps it light, fast-paced and entertaining keeping the readers invested in. His writing style is simple and captivating. The way he adds the element of suspense with each event is commendable. While we see the lives in the slums, the difficulties they face, and how things and people are easily manipulated, we see the power of money and being a pawn in a big game.

The way the events turned out to be are surprising and definitely the climax. We never know when can we become a pawn in someone’s game and if can we really count on them. I felt pity for Nitesh for his blinded trust. The characters are brilliantly sketched by the author. Each one of them adds an element of spice to the story. I liked how he focuses on family, emotional health and other relationships too.

A Tale of Two by Abhishek V is a fast-paced, intriguing read filled with drama that you can count on.
