Dear Dharam & Kim,
The first time I met you, you gave me complete Bollywood hero vibes – the charming, privileged guy who could win anyone over with a smile. I honestly thought I knew exactly where your story was headed. But the more I got to know you, the more my perspective changed. Yes, you began your journey wanting to charm a girl, but somewhere along the way, you became someone trying to understand people, understand yourself, and make things right. That’s the Dharam I fell in love with. Your character arc was one of my favourite parts of the book. You reminded me that true strength isn’t about never making mistakes- it’s about having the courage to own them and become a better person because of them. And yes, your personality is the kind that could make anyone fall for you.
But you… you were different, Kim.
Your courage, resilience, and unwavering love for your family made you just as unforgettable. Even when life wasn’t kind to you, you continued to show up – for your dreams, for your sister, and for the people you loved. I admired the way you spoke your mind, protected your family, and refused to let your circumstances define you. I could feel your heartbreak.
Sometimes, when we’re so used to giving love, we forget what it feels like to receive it. We become so comfortable putting others first that we stop expecting someone to choose us, understand us, or simply stay. And when someone finally does, we don’t quite know how to accept it. Kim, watching you refuse to give up on your dreams, despite the disappointments and everything life threw at you, was something I truly admired. You kept showing up, believing in yourself, and doing what you loved. That quiet resilience made your journey even more inspiring.
What I admired the most about the two of you was the friendship you built before anything else. You were there for each other when it mattered the most, bringing out the best in one another and giving each other the clarity you both needed. The trust you shared, the comfort you found in each other, and the way your friendship became the foundation of everything that followed made your relationship all the more beautiful. Your equation with Dharam was one of my favourite parts of the story. You never expected it to be anything more than friendship, and perhaps that’s what made it so beautiful. There was comfort, trust, and an unspoken understanding between the two of you that slowly evolved into something much deeper.
That’s what I felt while reading your journey. I felt your pain in the moments you quietly buried your feelings because you believed friendship was all the two of you would ever share. And somewhere deep down, I kept hoping the tables would turn. When they finally did, I couldn’t stop smiling. It wasn’t just because the romance found its way, it was because it finally felt like life had given you the happiness you truly deserved. After everything you had been through, watching you receive the same love you so effortlessly gave to others made my heart incredibly full. By the time I reached the final page, I wasn’t just rooting for the two of you—I was grateful to have met you both.
Some characters stay with us long after the story ends. You two did exactly that.
Until we meet again,
— Vidh
