Devyani_narayan Devyani Narayan’s The Brown girl post is a collection of poetry and fantastic short stories that will stay with us forever. It’s has everything in its rawest form, I would say.

Devyani, with her words, hits the right chord, makes the readers emotional and astounds the them with her amazing stories.

They say, sometimes words heal, words speak when you can’t express yourself. This book is one such book. A book, that expresses the deepest emotions, With a blend of themes like love, self-love, loss, dreams and hope. It’s a book in its rawest form.

The author has added Hindi poems too, which adds beauty to this book. The last letter, Temptations, Letter to my man, Rumbling, My Husband’s Ouija Board, she to me, and unborn are my favourite from the book.

It’s a light, honest read with depth in the author’s words. Crisply narrated, with an engrossing writing style, you will fall in love with this book.

Each story is unbelievable, has its own charm. I loved how perfectly she weaved the story, quick, fast-paced and to the point. Not to forget the unpredictable climax of each story.

You will find love, peace and yourself in her words. A book that I added to my treasured list, a book that I can go to every time I need answers.
