▶️ Tell me how was your month reading-wise in three words.

Well, mine was different, happy, and full of fun. While I came across many light and fun reads, I read and am still reading some thought-provoking books and I love how each book is shaping me. My book 132 of 2023 has been a thrilling roller-coaster journey of friendship and love.

On the Run by Smitha Joseph is a story of Sophia, who became a correctional officer with a mission to help her boyfriend flee the prison. As they succeeded in their mission, they began the run. Running away from the police and starting a life together. Will it be as simple as we think and read? Like every person has their own journey, here too each character has their own journey.

We all run away from our inner demons, and trust someone blindly, little do we know, they can be harmful to the world, and to us. On the Run is one such journey where Sophia’s blind trust in her boyfriend Cameron leads her to plot a plan to rescue the criminal without thinking about her safety and security, about risks, or anything. Friends are like a silver lining in life and Sophia is lucky to have a friend like Cynthia. Will she be able to save her from the criminal? Will she be able to control the damage for Sophia?

Smitha Joseph, in her book On the Run, masterfully weaves a gripping tale of love, loss, and friendship that keeps readers engaged with every twist and turn. The plot is enthralling, and rife with unexpected developments. With her skillful narrative and vivid descriptive style, Smitha immediately captures the reader’s attention, gradually building momentum as the story unfolds.

Through a series of events, readers gain insight into the lives of Sophia, Cynthia, and Liam. As the story progresses, secrets and lies accumulate, adding depth to the characters and their intertwined destinies. While the initial chapters provide a lighter introduction to their lives, heartbreaks, and backgrounds, the narrative truly takes off when the criminal act occurs.  The latter portion of the story is a thrilling roller-coaster ride, filled with a captivating run and chase. While Sophia endeavors to rescue her boyfriend, Cynthia is on a mission to protect Sophia from the clutches of a criminal. The excitement lies in their methods and actions. The run and chase is too interesting to read. 

The characters are strong, well-developed, and relatable making it easier for readers to soak in the tension and the thrill. The story becomes progressively more thrilling as it unfolds, and amid the chaos, a love story blossoms, adding an additional layer of excitement. Love in the midst of chaos is always a captivating theme, and here, readers can delve into Liam’s love story. Cynthia and Liam’s characters are particularly relatable, enabling readers to connect with their experiences. Sophia’s character shines through her determination and quick thinking. It’s a fast-paced story with a cinematic and entertaining climax. Smitha adds drama and action in the climax which is no less than a Bollywood movie.

In all, On the Run is a fast-paced and compelling read, offering a blend of drama, suspense, and romance. If you enjoy stories with strong character development, unexpected twists, and a touch of romance, On the Run is a book that should be on your reading list.
