Review:
This book is just like its title, A Spiritual Journey, which brings one closer to love. A journey that teaches us to take a leap of faith, believe in ourselves and most importantly live with all the love we find in this journey of life. With a perfect blend of love, loss, relationships, politics, and spirituality, Prajeet Budhale weaves an emotional tale that brings us closer to love, closer to finding the meaning of what true love is. Divided into 4 Parts, Tamas, Rajas, Sattva and Nirvana, it’s a story of Tapas and Durga who face difficult situations in their lives. What makes them different is their Perspective. This book tells a story of how a change inspires us to be better and transcends the goodness within us.
Hit with the reality of life, chasing the numbers to reach the Graph, Tapas, a Banker aims to give a secure, lavish life to his son. While there are disagreements with his wife, he lives for his Son. Always running the race, tired Tapas finally finds what he loves as he enrols himself in an art class where he participates in a performance. Will these classes change his life? Will he find his purpose? With a compelling plot and crisp, descriptive narrative, it’s a story filled with twists and turns. It is an emotional rollercoaster ride that makes us witness the shades of life.
On the other hand, Durga who always feels like not being up to the expectations, joins the class too. Kris the master gives them lead roles. Will this make them face their fears? Casanova Tapas and Determined Durga meet at a point where both of them are lost but can’t afford to lose themselves for their families. How will the tables turn? How their lives will change after the show? Brilliantly narrated, Prajeet’s writing style is gripping and enchanting making it relatable for the readers. With each part, a reader evolves as a person. While Tapas finds his meaning, and his purpose, we find what love is. I loved the way the plot was shaped from the practical situations to the path of spirituality.
What is spirituality? How to attain peace? Well, you will find the answers here which are practical and relatable making us aware of this aspect of life. Just like walking to complete a circle, Prajeet too takes us on a walk of life where there are different stops teaching us different lessons. And Tapas’s journey is no less than an adventure where there is a dive within as love is the source, the energy.
‘The purpose of life is not to be free by disconnecting from everything. The purpose of life is to be happy by staying connected to the things that you love.’
Filled with lots of drama and insights simultaneously, this book is no less than a Bollywood movie. Prajeet sketches the characters beautifully. I eventually liked Durga’s character but later Tapas became the Hero. The way his character grows is commendable. It’s a bit heavy read and will take a little time to absorb the situations but again it’s a beautiful experience altogether. The story is raw, emotional and deep making readers pause and reflect. I enjoyed reading the conversations between DS and Rishiguru.
How nature always guides us, and leads us to the paths that evolve us. Tapas’s journey too is full of passion, desires and love and with every encounter with these desires, the passion leaves him, uniting him to his purpose, to his true love. While the story is about the journey, the destination too is remarkable. The climax of the story is outstanding giving the story a perfect closure. A deep, refreshing and beautiful read that lets us dive into the world of transformation.
